Do what you love. Sounds like the ideal, doesn’t it? A few years ago I saw the following video narrated by the great motivational speaker and writer Alan Watts. Take 3 minutes out of your busy working day and watch this.
- What makes you itch?
- What would you do if money was no object?
- Why would you work all day just to work another day?
All these questions were aimed at young people, however it is an even more important question to ask yourself after you have been in the work system for years.
Alan Watts, in this 3 minute speech, pokes at our prevalence for working to live small and challenges us to instead work for love and live large.
“It’s better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way”
– Alan Watts
So, invest 3 minutes in this video. 30 minutes in brainstorming ideas of what you do if money were no obstacle for you. 30 minutes to jot down ideas of how you could incorporate more of this into your life. 3 minutes to take one step towards this goal. That’s 66 minutes. Do it now!
